__Highlights from this issue

On January 15, 2025, Turkmenistan hosted a landmark conference bringing together government officials, diplomats, and UN representatives to launch the International Year of Peace and Trust. The event highlighted Turkmenistan's Concept of Activities and Priorities, reflecting the nation's commitment to consolidating global efforts for peace and sustainable development.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was elected Chairman of the Third UN Conference on LLDCs, demonstrating Turkmenistan's leadership role in global development. His address emphasized the country's commitment to multilateral cooperation, transport connectivity, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Dr. Syed Ali Asad Gillani, Additional Secretary for Afghanistan & West Asia at Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reflects on the deepening bilateral ties between Pakistan and Turkmenistan, highlighting key infrastructure projects like the TAPI gas pipeline and TAP electricity transmission line that promise to enhance regional connectivity and energy security.

On March 22, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov led a nationwide greening campaign, emphasizing Turkmenistan's commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.

The initiative is part of the comprehensive National Forestry Program aimed at expanding forested areas and combating climate change.

Turkmenistan prepares a comprehensive package of initiatives for the UN's 80th session.

Including proposals for a Global Security Strategy, the UN Decade of Sustainable Transport (2026-2035), and the establishment of International Mediation Day—initiatives that could reshape international cooperation frameworks.
